&lt;strong&gt;Brief description of the team:&lt;/strong&gt; 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
The International Mobilization Trust (IMT) Team is a unit within the International Mobilization Cluster focused on funding and support toward the mobilization and growth of the Amnesty International movement worldwide. &lt;br /&gt;
The IMT Team supports the IMT Grants Committee (GC) in the decision-making process where the GC decides which applicants will receive international funding. During this process, the IMT Team also supports the work of those sections, structures, partnerships for growth and growth project teams submitting applications for these grants. The IMT Team includes three Grants Officers and one Administrator, with all four reporting directly to the Senior Director for International Mobilization. The IMT Team works closely with colleagues in the International Mobilization Program, especially those within the Movement Support Unit. &lt;br /&gt;
The work is supervised but volunteers are expected to be able to work independently, use their own initiative and manage their own workloads. Willingness to undertake routine administrative work is crucial. Projects may be devised by the team in collaboration with the volunteer which will aim to assist the team in fulfilling its strategic objectives, whilst making the best use of the volunteer&amp;rsquo;s own skills and experience.

&lt;strong&gt;Role profile of the volunteer/intern:&lt;/strong&gt; 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Volunteers are integral to the team and undertake a range of work, mainly administrative but also research and campaigning tasks.

&lt;p&gt;
Voluntary work in one of the world&amp;rsquo;s leading human rights organisations can provide valuable experience and you will receive work references. However, please note that volunteering does not lead directly to employment with Amnesty International. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Voluntary work is unpaid, although travel and lunch expenses are provided. We are able to offer only very limited advice in terms of finding accommodation or employment in London. Volunteers are responsible for arranging their own UK visa/work permit before arriving in the UK. AI can provide a supporting letter on request.

&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Input gathered data on Section and Structure growth trends to Excel spreadsheet.&amp;nbsp; Liaise by e-mail and telephone with Consultant based in the USA on presentation of trends information in a comprehensive and workable format.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Paper and electronic filing, photocopying and faxing, including managing archiving of historic files and working with Administrator to co-ordinate access to filing space and resources.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;With support of Administrator, research and reconcile previous IMT Grant expenditure, making comparisons with paper and electronic files and presenting comprehensive report to Grant Officers.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Support development of new electronic database systems, through inputting of retrospective information on grants.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Set up system for logging and filing IMT funded Section and Structure Audits&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Logistical support before and after the IMT Grants Committee meetings.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Participation at regular meetings with the IMT Team. 
&lt;/p&gt;

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Fluent level of written and spoken English&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Excellent knowledge of computers; particularly word processing and databases.&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Filing and photocopying: assisting with maintenance of the team&amp;rsquo;s electronic and hard copy filing system, including manual filing and archiving.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Research tasks and information gathering: volunteers will be required to collect, summarise and present information for the team using AI databases and the Internet.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Routine administrative support - for example photocopying, faxing, mailing, and formatting documents.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Correspondence: The volunteer will be asked to answer general correspondence by letter or email.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Updating address books/contact lists. The volunteer will be expected to keep these lists updated. &lt;br /&gt;

Voluntary work in one of the world&amp;rsquo;s leading human rights organisations can provide valuable experience and you will receive work references. However, please note that volunteering does not lead directly to employment with Amnesty International.

Voluntary work is unpaid, although travel and lunch expenses are provided. We are able to offer only very limited advice in terms of finding accommodation or employment in London. Volunteers are responsible for arranging their own UK visa/work permit before arriving in the UK. AI can provide a supporting letter on request.

&lt;h2&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Task List&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
The work is supervised but the volunteer is expected to be able to work independently, use their initiative and manage their own workload. Willingness to undertake routine administrative work is crucial. Projects may be devised by the team in collaboration with the volunteer which will aim to assist the team in fulfilling its strategic objectives, whilst making the best use of the volunteer&amp;rsquo;s own skills, interests and experience. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Press monitoring and electronic filing: We daily monitor 5 national US newspapers on the internet. Relevant articles are then filed electronically into databases with important news items forwarded to the relevant team members by email.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Filing and photocopying: We have a very detailed filing system &amp;ndash; both electronic and manual &amp;ndash; which needs to be updated; this is usually done by the volunteer. This involves some photocopying.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Monitoring team mailbox: The North America team has an electronic mailbox which is inundated with emails from other NGOs, requests from the public, news subscriptions etc. The volunteer will be asked to monitor the incoming mail, forward emails as appropriate and file news items into the North America press databases.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Correspondence: The volunteer will be asked to answer general correspondence by letter or email.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Updating address books/contact lists: We require updated information on authorities/prisons, police departments etc, in order to send out campaigning materials promptly. The volunteer will be expected to keep these lists updated.

&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Ability to multi-task&lt;br /&gt;

The Learning and Impact Unit within the International Secretariat is seeking a volunteer to come and work with the team.&lt;br /&gt;
This new team will consist of seven staff, four senior advisors, two officers and an administrator. &lt;br /&gt;
The teams&amp;rsquo; goal is to enable Amnesty International to learn and act effectively in achieving its vision and mission, in the most efficient and accountable manner for greater impact on peoples lives.&lt;br /&gt;
Volunteers are integral to our team and undertake a range of work, mainly administrative.

&lt;strong&gt;Role profile of the volunteer/intern:&lt;/strong&gt;

To provide administrative support and actively participate in the development of the Learning and Impact Unit within the International Secretariat of Amnesty International

Supporting the administration of the team which includes: 
&lt;/p&gt;

&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;collating and sumarising large amounts of information&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;updating individual staff members training records , attendance lists, cancellations and waiting lists&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;logging course applications&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;updating and maintaining a resource library of training providers in the sector&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;producing reports from training course evaluations.&lt;br /&gt;
