&lt;strong&gt;Brief description of the team:&lt;/strong&gt; 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
The Organisation Liaison Unit (OLU) provides a central point of contact between the International Secretariat and Amnesty Sections and governing bodies. OLU is responsible for the organisational arrangements of Amnesty&amp;rsquo;s highest decision-making authority &amp;ndash; the International Council Meeting (ICM) &amp;ndash; and provides administrative and practical support to the international Executive Committee, its International Committees and other elected committees, international consultations and meetings. OLU&amp;rsquo;s responsibilities cover the International Secretariat and Amnesty Sections and governing bodies, including upkeep of section records, provision of regular information circulars to the movement, coordination of communications between the Office of the Secretary General (OSG) and sections, and organization of sections visits to the IS.

&lt;strong&gt;Role profile of the volunteer/intern:&lt;/strong&gt; 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
This internship is specifically aimed at providing support to the Interpretation Coordinator so that they can undertake critical projects directed towards improving Amnesty International&amp;rsquo;s communications and providing the intern with solid experience in interpretation administration for international organizations. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
To be an assistant to the Interpretation Coordinator with the responsibility to update and maintain current administrative tools and provide administrative support with servicing forthcoming meetings. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
The post of Interpretation Coordinator is based in the Organization Liaison Unit at the International Secretariat of Amnesty International in London, and is responsible for the interpretation of all international meetings organized by Amnesty International and other events including specialist consultations, board level work and high level missions.&amp;nbsp; 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Task List&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Update and maintain interpretation database.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Create and file hard copies of past meetings with relevant information.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Draft communication, prepare and send information packs for new interpreters, manage correspondence addressed to Interpretation Coordinator, keep record of and process interpretation equipment invoices.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Provide administrative support with servicing forthcoming meetings (for example: liaise with interpretation team prior to the event, prepare document packs)&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Arrange interpreters&amp;rsquo; travel, where necessary, in conjunction with the IS travel office.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Update and maintain multilingual glossary for interpreters.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Provide support where necessary to the rest of the team 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Experience of the interpreting profession.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Ability to process information related to specific language combinations for data input.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Experience of word processing software packages.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Experience of using databases, inputting and retrieving data.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Experience of email communications.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Willingness to attend international meetings if required and liaise with interpretation team, organizers and technicians.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Knowledge and understanding of professional standards of best practice.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Understanding of confidentiality of AI work.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Must be fluent in English and at least one other language, both written and spoken. 
&lt;/p&gt;
